108 Sun Salutations Charity event, Saturday the 24th of March, on the village green 10am- 11:30am.
We would ask all taking part to arrive by 9:45am at the latest so you can find a space and get organized. Please bring a yoga mat with you and a small towel and some water might be advisable. We require a $10 minimum donation from each participant, hopefully you can bring further donations/sponsorship for the cause as well! Origin 108 is a sacred number in yoga. Traditionally malas (strings of prayer beads) come as a string of 108 beads (plus one for the “guru bead,” around which the other 108 beads turn like the planets around the sun). 108 sun salutations are often completed at the time of the spring equinox. If you don’t feel you can complete the whole 108 sun salutations – no worries – just bring along a friend or 2 to share the rounds. It means you don’t have to do so many but have just as much fun….If you are unable to take part, why not sponsor us as a group instead – every penny you donate will make such a difference. A great way to do it is to get somebody or a business to donate you $1 for every sun salutation. This is all about having some fun as a community, we hope to see you all there.
