Spring in to spring with an “local’s off-season” Concession Card!
Hi Yogis!
Spring has sprung and it is time to get in to summer shape! Also for a lot of students, get over some crashes on the hill and put the body back together. There is no better way to stay healthy and prepare for summer than to commit to a regular yoga practice.
Yoga keeps you strong and supple and helps you stay out where you want to be, having fun, not home sick or injured.
For the month of September, Studio Sangha would like to offer a 10 class concession card (normally $160) for $120! If you come in with a friend and buy 2 at once. I’ll give you both for $100 each!
The only condition is that is must be used in 3 months instead of the normal 1 year. That makes it only $10 per class if you have bought 2 cards or $12 per class and is good for both studios.
We have all our regular 6pm classes, 10am classes as well as 8am Pilates classes.
Get to it and stay with it! A regular yoga class is like brushing your teeth, good daily maintenance and not something to be missed and all the systems of the body need maintenance every day.
Sale starts on Tuesday! See you soon,
Namaste, Peggy
Rescheduled due to Winter Fest Thurs 6-8pm Swami Govindananda

The Spiritual Nature of Yoga, a talk by Swami Govindananda
Swami Ji’s talk “The Spiritual Nature of Yoga” picks up where the practice of physical yoga naturally leads you to – inquiry in to the self, the desire to meditate, and to gain a deeper understanding of the origins of yoga from a spiritual perspective.
Swami Ji is an accomplished and charismatic speaker. An author and producer of 100’s of recorded talks, he brings us the fruit of his many years of experience of living in India studying philosophy and meditation at the deepest levels.
Please attend this talk and support his effort to come to Queenstown as well as continue your understanding of what yoga really is. He is a regular lecturer at Lance Schuler’s teacher trainings and comes highly recommended.
Everyone is welcome.

Friday June 25th 6-8 pm we will have an evening satsang, talk, about yoga, an infinite and fascinating subject the more you study it, with Swami J from Byron Bay. He comes recommended by Lance Schuler so I think this one will be well worth the evening. Everyone welcome and encouraged, $30 non members, $20 members, and members, if you bring a friend they can attend for $20. Bring your friends!
Lance Schuler is coming back January 21- 23 for a workshop. Of particular interest, Lance is planning on coming here Oct 2010 for a 4 week L1 Teachers Training, 200 hour course. We are just starting to put this together. He is confirming dates though and that is the first step to making it happen. So, put that on our calendar Oct 2011 if you have ever wanted to attend a 4 week training. It will be amazing and fun. I am really happy about hosting and being a part of a international standard in yoga study. We all love Lance Schuler, and he’ll be bringing another few super talented teachers with him.
I am going this Thursday to the Bikam advanced training in Las Vegas to study the 84 posture series that the 26 posture series came from. I am so excited! I’ll practice each morning with about 250 other people, first the beginning series then the advanced, about a 4 1/2 hour practice. I’ll be with Bikram, Emmy, and all the senior teachers, as well as teachers from all over the world! Wow! Can you imagine in a room with 250 other people and 100 degrees outside! Huge energy!
It is 100 degrees now in Vegas. Is that too hot? Too cold? Who is to say, I am going to practice. Life is not perfect, nor is it predictable. Just practice and try to let go of the attachment to what we think “is”.
While I am gone, please know I think about the studio a lot and I do care that you all get the same dedication you get when I am here. I know you will be well taken care of.
Amanda will be here for all of the Hatha classes. She is amazing. Get lots of her now, take Amanda’s classes. I have the heaters cranked. We have to work hard to build the heat in the bodies right now. Sun Salutations, our base foundation of the classes, were developed to build heat. Bhakstrika, a pranayama teachnique, was designed to build heat in the belly. These techniques work.
As the seasons change from one to the next, I hear “it’s too hot”, and “it’s too cold”. You can imagine I hear that all the time. Remember, yoga is about trying to become not so opinionated about everything. Being accepting and using these tools we have been given to change our condition or perception of our condition. I also hear, “too poor, too fat, too old”…. I don’t believe any of it.
Our mind is either our servant or our master. Be master of your own mind and create the life and experiences you want.
Brush your teeth only in the summer? Do you wash your hands only if you have hot water? Sound ridiculous? It is. This is your body, the systems of the body need daily maintenance, compressing and flushing, year around.
On that note, thank you all dealing with, and loving our little room. I do have plans for the future. I love to move and grow. I do look forward to including you all in the new, and up and coming. Watch that space and this space….
In the meantime, take care of the studio while I am gone, it is your place as well as mine. It has been a great little spot for a really good practice. Rock on guys. I’ll be back for heaps more practice with the advanced starting to get thrown in the higher level classes. There are some of you ready to step up to the L2 classes and challenge yourselves a bit more…
Have a great Winter Festival and Winter Solstice. The Sun is coming back our way! These are the shortest days right now.
Namaste and thank you for being a part of this awesome yoga community,
Peggy
