I attended my first yoga class back in 2001, it was a private lesson with Joy Cummings an experienced Iyengar teacher back in the UK. A Chiropractor had suggested to me well actually suggested to my mum that I should start practicing yoga to assist with my scoliosis. The first class I was defiantly hesitant, I didn’t have a clue how to connect to my body and instruct it to do any of the postures. After, feeling more alive and free in my body to move than I had for years, I was hooked !!
I love the practice of Yoga and everything it brings into my life, I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot and along the way experience different styles of yoga and teachers as well as meeting some great like-minded people.
I trained in October 2011 with the amazing Lance Schelur and his inspirational team at Inspya yoga. I earned my Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification. It feels like the most relevant thing I have done in my life so far. I’m so looking forward to more study and it is through continuous practice, connecting with my teachers, students and fellow yogis around me that I develop my practice and teachings.
Yoga had helped me so much with my back issues and my overall wellbeing from inside to out I love passing on what I am learning to my students and feel privileged to watch their progress.
