Hot Foundations 38-40°

The Foundations of Re-patterning (aka Foundations) is a bold, new science-backed sequence of 40 poses designed by Yogi and Author , Kyle Ferguson. It aims to shed light on how we can approach Yoga as a functional movement practice supporting a wide spectrum of diverse activity and also longevity.

More than just “medicine”, it is a thoroughly enjoyable class! The practice is all-levels, both accessible for beginners and challenging for ‘advanced’ students.

The practice is Ritualised. If we repeat a sequence regularly we can get over the basics and start to engage in the detailed work of re-patterning, creating harmony in the body and balancing maladaptive patterns. The posture selection for Foundations is explicitly oriented to meet the challenge of providing the most value to the broadest spectrum of humans.

Vinyasa

Designed to be challenging, our Vinyasa classes combine improvisation with repetition, with a primary emphasis on strong, well-supported movement patterns. We mix “traditional” yoga poses with modern fitness routines, and no two classes are the same.

Come explore the boundary between steady, mindful, traditional practice and playful adaptation. Move in unison with your breath and the group. For classes listed as “Hot Vinyasa” the Temperature is 32-35°, For Gentle Flow / Flow & Yin the room will be ambient room temperature.

Hatha

A blend of static and flowing postures, sometimes using props and sometimes not. This form of yoga focuses on simple poses that flow from one to the other at a very comfortable pace. It is a freestyle form of teaching that follows the students' energies, seasons, and time of day. Great for improving stamina and posture and for reducing stress. Temperature around 35° for Hot Hatha.

Hot Pilates / HIIT

Hot Pilates is a unique form of exercise, with a traditional focus on correct posture and breathing; but enriched with the latest anatomical and biomechanical research, plus an additional cardio focus through high intensity low impact training (HIIT) for cardiac health. Correct posture is essential to achieve excellent results, so our Pilates Instructors correct and adjust your posture throughout each workout. With a blend of interval training, Pilates postural principles and functional fitness we’ll help you create a stronger, leaner body that looks great, feels amazing, and ages well. Temperature around 35°.

Yin / Restorative / Nidra

Our bodies need active movement, but for optimum flexibility and health they also need the unique opening that only Yin & Restorative Yoga can provide. Poses are typically held for 2-5 minutes, opening the deeper tissues of the body; connective tissue, joints and ligaments. Props such as bolsters, blocks and straps are used for support and comfort . Students are offered an opportunity to surrender, slow down and come back to balance. The practice offers mental and emotional benefits as you become quiet, still and mindful of the present, often the practice is closed with guided meditation or Yoga Nidra. The room is a cosy, ambient temperature.
