What People Are Saying

“Classes are amazing, and each instructor’s individual style comes across, giving you a great variety of mindfulness throughout! Lovely space and beginner-friendly, allowing you to borrow anything you need if you’re starting or passing through. 10/10 would recommend.”

— Naly

“Love this studio! Amazing teachers with clear, intentional cues and fresh flows. Great mix of classes, Pilates, Vinyasa, Yin, even aerial. Clean, calming space close to town with easy parking. Highly recommend!”

— Katie

“So good! Thoroughly enjoyed both the aerial (low hammock) yoga classes I have taken part in at Sangha; it’s extraordinary how something that feels so good and relaxing can stretch and open up places that I can’t get to any other way, despite years of trying! If you like the results of Yin yoga, I think you will love this.”

— Rebecca

Tips for Your First Class at Sangha

  • What to Bring
Bring a yoga mat and water bottle. For Hot classes (especially Hot 26&2), we recommend a full-size towel on top of your mat, you’ll sweat plenty! Mats, towels, and water are all available at the desk if you need them.

    After Class
Want to freshen up? You can bring or rent an extra towel for the showers (we have two). There’s also a hair dryer and straighteners if you’re heading straight to work or out. The studio stays open for 30 minutes after class so you have time to get ready.

  • Hot Classes
Wear light, breathable gear, leggings or shorts with a sports bra or tank work best. Skip wiping sweat during class; it’s your body’s natural cooling system. Wiping just makes you hotter (and the sweat keeps coming anyway!).

Ambient / Slower Classes (like Yin)
Go for comfy clothes. Bring a cozy layer or jumper for Savasana and those long, still holds.

  • Before Class
Arrive 15–20 minutes early so you have time to settle in. Be dressed and on your mat a few minutes before start time, and stay for the full class, it’s a shared experience, and late arrivals or early exits throw off the mojo.

    In the Space
Our studio is for quiet reflection before and after class. If you need to chat, please whisper. Yoga rooms are device-free zones, no phones or beeps. Keep your device on silent in the cubbies at reception.

    During Class
Follow the teacher’s cues and move with the group. Need a break? Rest in stillness or modify a pose. If you have specific needs, chat with your instructor beforehand. Above all, be mindful of others and keep distractions to a minimum.

  • We have 11 on-site parks: two rows right outside reception and three spaces on the gravel (please park with enough room for all three cars).

If these are full, there’s plenty of street parking along Industrial Place, plus a large car park at the bottom of Industrial Place/Gorge Road.

  • Before Class
Check in on the device at the front desk.

Let your teacher know about any injuries or medical concerns. Prefer privacy? Email Helen at info@queenstownyoga.com and we’ll update the teachers for you.

Need a mat, towel, or water? See the front desk team. (Mats hung in the room have been used and are awaiting cleaning.)

    After Class
Hang your mat on the rack (or roll and store underneath).

Pop used towels in the basket by the hot room door.

    In the Room
Set up your spot and grab any props you’d like, your teacher will guide you on what’s useful.

New to Hot classes? Try a spot near the back by the windows or door for a cooler experience.
